The art of public speaking

Hello!!!

Today, I have felt that when you are speaking to someone, you get your words spontaneously... just like that but when you try to speak to so many people and you stand in front of them, even though you very well know about what you are going to speak, you pause or you stammer. Isn't it?

Today I came to know why this happens. Its just because of one aspect in you, sensitivity. As you start to speak out your sentence and simultaneously frame the next sentences in your mind, something else starts tinkering you. You start feeling that what people in front start thinking about you. Though this thought process is not apparent, you feel some sort of fear creeping in your mind. This is called stage fear or public speaking fear.

Let me tell you a fact. Fear of public speaking comes first and then comes fear of death, for many people. If you are sensitive enough to start thinking what others think about you, you stammer.

The only solution for this is practice. Try getting opportunities to speak to large gatherings like class, club or even in auditorium and next tip is, try not to say it out what you have memorised before but try to talk to your audience. Think that you are having a causual conversation with lot of people and try to look at each of the faces. This makes sure that the listeners ate glued to your speech. You can try to reharse it well before if you are feeling nervous.

With my innovative bent of mind, I dream of making virtual reality goggles which when you put on along with headphones, can make you see a large gathering in front and you can speak just feeling like you are in a real scene with the virtual people giggling, chatting until you get their attention.

Thanks for reading!!!
