Burnt LED has about 30ohm resistance

Hello!

Notice the two LEDs(Light Emitting Diodes in the picture connected in series. The red one glows but the other LED doesn't. This is because the latter one is burnt by excess current beforehand and a burnt LED  always acts as a bilateral low inpedance conductor.

I have decided the row

Hello!

I have decided the sort of things that I would be making during my four year stay at college. Anything more added will get edited later. Already half an year is completed and I should be starting fast.

These are the list of things that I decided to make myself(DIY) and to improve my practical knowledge.

-Time bomb
-Quadcopter
-Electric guitar with effects unit
-Basic caluculator
-High altitude balloon flight
-Digital watch
- Musical keyboard
-Ham radio
-Walkie talkie
-RC plane with FPV
-Apple I

And maby more I guess. The electric guitar was made once that I've mentioned in the previous post. Let me see how many of the above will be realised. You can notice that all of them involve electronics since that is my branch of study in engineering for bachelors and I am proud of that.

SRM space probe #2

Hello!

Our university project, I was talking about is nearing its completion. The solar tracking is solved and the structure is getting ready. We have a telescope pointing towards comet ISON and a camera behind its lens that shoots pictures at regular intervals. We are using insulation and warmers.

For tracking we people are collaborating with NARL and  using their radio sonde.

I will further write about it few days later..

SRM space probe #1

Hello!

I was talking about it in the previous. My exams got completed yesterday and we can work more from now on. We people today need to plan a slide presentation to be shown to the college heads.

As on now we are yet to decide the primary mech. we are going to imlement to study the ISON comet. Radio spectrum got eliminated. Now we are thinking of visible spectrum and there is some hope visible here to us.....

Will update...

Marks are not at all a measure

Because.....

That is what I feel....

I will tell you something....
This is going to help you if you are feeling a bit scary looking at the sort of competition you may be facing from classmates, peers, opponents, teams and all those people out there who might want you to fall down or fail......

Lets be open and frank...

Many of people we were just talking now are just dummies. They don't have brains. You have it! Most people in the world cannot think better than you. The actual truth is that a each brain in each and everyone is very unique. If you have got an awesome idea.... then it is very least likely that anyone within a thousand mile radius from your awesome should have got this unless you spread that.

The best and coolest way to beat competion... I call this, the black box method. Believe it or not, the first thing you need to do is to forget everything. By saying 'everything' simply means eveything... your family, friends, neighbours and their great or dull expectations about you... forget everything.

Next, you should find something that intrests you and you should feel, whatever you do is the greatest work on this planet Earth... forget the aliens(they are much more intelligent). You should feel dignity for it and most importantly... you should feel strong passion for it. It may be building rockets or even making shoes....

Steve Jobs once said, 'search for the work that when you do, makes you feel as if it is the greatest work and do not settle down until you find it'. By this means all you will be doing is just competing with yourself and living like a better one for yourself and then you enjoy and celebrate life.

To start from, remove all the dirt from your soul and mind and begin from the scratch. Whatever you are learning, you will feel great and intriguing.

SRM space probe

Long time.....

I am very excited about this.... sending a balloon to near space with all stuff like sensors, GPS, radio tracking, camera, big antenna and doing research. The big thing is its our own space program. Till now we have only heard about govt space agencies sending rockets... now people are also doing it and I am proud to say that I am a part of 15 member group and we will be releasing a high altitude balloon in two months from now.

I take care of the basic electronics part and I give ideas.

I will constantly update about this here with a picture or two occasionally....

My first outing..... alone

Hello!

Long time since I have posted.

Meanwhile I attended a workshop on personality development. It was very good, filled with many tips and much fun...

Also in these two weeks, I rekindled my interest in electronics, both as my course and my hobby. Because when you have just one thing to engage you day and night, it means you will simply rock in wharever you do. I requested my mom to parcel my lab equipment from home to hostel and I also made a daring move to step out of the university campus alone and travel to Chennai alone to buy few components like LED's, resistors, two chips, etc. I did not have any personal view about this and it was just a week of mental preparation and through research in locations and maps which gave me enough confidence to step out. Even my mom said no to this, since I am still a fresher. It was a long train jouney to a place called Ritchie Street in central Chennai and I was always keen to explore that part of city. Its really a big city. Luckily I found the shop after thirty minutes of nearly hopeless search through the congested streets. I quickly bought the things, got back on the train and reached back the campus at six.

It was an adventure and I think I will be doing many like this regularly since I need to buy electronics stuff too often being a hobbyist....

I belong to and my dreams

Long time

I guess two weeks is not so long time for few of you but it is very long
time for me because lot of things can be done.

Before this I used to stay in Hyderabad, did my studies awesomely till 12
grade, now for engineering I have joined SRM near chennai. I stay in hostel
here and I blog from here. As an engineering student, I have my own dreams
which I am going to share with you now:

Making my own electric guitar and performing a concert with it

Sending a balloon to upper atmosphere with instruments to probe with
sensors and relay back the data through radio

Making my very own timer bomb which displays countdown and blasts

Making a quadrotor with camera which can send me live feed within a range
of few kilometers

These are just few of my goals I wish to do them in my four years of study
here. I belong to Electronics branch and I am passionate about it. Thats
why each and everything said above is something related to electronics.

It is always good to be passionate about something always because even in
times of difficulty, it makes your life meaningful and fills it with hope
and color.

I feel I am a blogoholic

Hello there!

Even though I don't have anything in my mind to share openly that has to be in a blog, even though I am feeling very sleep, I am feeling a sort of compulsion to write off something, some nonsense stuff in this space. Even though I do not talk a lot, I feel like writing a lot, whatever that comes to my mind. Thats what pushed me to start a blog and post things. I treat my blog partially as a diary and partly as a thing of open publishing. I do not care how many people read this and I am not at all cared about how many people follow my blog but I am just cared about how do people feel after reading something I have written. It sometimes hope that it can bring a change in the reader.

This is all a sort of nonsense I am writing. Isn't it?

This shows that I can write well without any mistakes..... even in sleep....

Good night

When you work, life has surprises for you

Hello!

The title is a bit metaphysical I guess, but it is largely known to be true. I remember a saying 'life is either a daring adventure or nothing'. Everyone faces challenges and when we face, we need to surpass it to prove to ourselves that we have some stuff in us, we have guts to fight back when situation tries to pull us down, tear us apart, whatever worse you think. Thats why I have resented to blogging even though I have a class test tomorrow;-)

Though I am very young to talk about things like this, I many times feel that when we work a lot for better things, life also chalks out a plan for us secretively. We do not know whats around the corner  Yes! We cannot explain this....... this is totally a paranormal thing........ to prove this to yourselves, just work and see.

The art of public speaking

Hello!!!

Today, I have felt that when you are speaking to someone, you get your words spontaneously... just like that but when you try to speak to so many people and you stand in front of them, even though you very well know about what you are going to speak, you pause or you stammer. Isn't it?

Today I came to know why this happens. Its just because of one aspect in you, sensitivity. As you start to speak out your sentence and simultaneously frame the next sentences in your mind, something else starts tinkering you. You start feeling that what people in front start thinking about you. Though this thought process is not apparent, you feel some sort of fear creeping in your mind. This is called stage fear or public speaking fear.

Let me tell you a fact. Fear of public speaking comes first and then comes fear of death, for many people. If you are sensitive enough to start thinking what others think about you, you stammer.

The only solution for this is practice. Try getting opportunities to speak to large gatherings like class, club or even in auditorium and next tip is, try not to say it out what you have memorised before but try to talk to your audience. Think that you are having a causual conversation with lot of people and try to look at each of the faces. This makes sure that the listeners ate glued to your speech. You can try to reharse it well before if you are feeling nervous.

With my innovative bent of mind, I dream of making virtual reality goggles which when you put on along with headphones, can make you see a large gathering in front and you can speak just feeling like you are in a real scene with the virtual people giggling, chatting until you get their attention.

Thanks for reading!!!

I pledge not to plagarise

Hello!

This is the very next post and now I am going to make a pledge.

Copying from others is a bad thing. Very bad thing indeed. It cannot be forgiven and the very meaning of creativity is threatened. Few people put in a lot of effort to do and accomplish what ever they can. Be it music, writing, video, research, anything. There are few people who see this and instead of admiring what has been done they do nearly the same thing and credit the whole matter for themselves. This is called plagarism.

I strongly discourage this and hereby I pledge that I will not plagarise and I will not tolerate plagarism.
THIS BLOG IS PLAGARISM FREE.

If you find any material that you think is not original, you have the right to question me by email  :  t.gouthamsharma@gmail.com

Not updated my blog

Hello there!

This is me back after a very long time and I am aware that I have not put up any post since the new year day this year. It is very upsetting on my part for not at all updating the site for seven months and thats a very long time.

For now, I have decided to post everyday about something that comes to my mind in about fifty words. It also can be a great deal of nonsense. So I will be posting and you as a reader, hope will turn into a regular reader.

Since I have recently got a mobile of my own and a wifi connection at my university hostel I have a pretty chance to post everyday and I promise that I will not post any voluminous essays or huge paragraphs. I will just post few lines that I have learnt as an essense and a line or two about my hobbies......
